Poor-man’s half-model, Rice Lake canoe (c. 1900). Made especially for us by R. A. Bird, Bay of Quinte Yacht Club, Belleville, Ontario. Moulded of epoxy resin from the design lines of an old Herald Patent canoe I found on Rice Lake, Ontario in the 1980’s.

Length: 25 in. Height: 3 in. Depth: 2 in. Half-model only (no backboard). This is a complete molded half-model purposely left in unfinished condition. A weekend project for those who love anything to do with canoes. Model can be finished for painting and mounting on your own backboard with only trimming knife, sandpaper and very few tools. Instructions and suggestions for finishing and mounting included. Also included an historical sketch of Rice Lake canoes, including description of the famous Herald Patent style of construction and a list of paint-schemes used on these canoes in the late 19th century.
